As soon as we viewed the venue we knew that it was perfect for us. The countryside location is ideal and Paul, who hosted our show round was brilliant. He quickly helped us to realise that The Compasses had everything we wanted in a venue and was different to others we had seen in that it makes for a very chilled atmosphere and a wedding you can make your own rather than rigid packages and days with regimented timings.
The lead up to our day was (like many) affected by a covid cancellation or two but the communication from the venue was excellent and their assistance in moving everything to new dates was pain-free and kind.
On the lead up to the wedding Paul, Charlaine and the team helped to make sure that every detail was perfectly planned so that the day would run smoothly and it really did. As a bride one of the most stressful things is worrying that you’re going to have to make sure that you remember everything on the day to ensure that it all happens as planned but with Paul and the team in charge on the day the worry has gone because they have it totally under control!
The bridal prep room is the most perfect place and allowed a fantastic space for the bridal party to get ready. On top of this it was a sanctuary for me throughout the day and a quiet location for me to be able to feed our baby.
As a venue overall it really did have everything we needed for our day. The room on the left as you enter was a perfect spot for older relatives to chill and have a chat in the evening, the bar area is spacious and the main reception room and dance floor was just great as guests were able to get up and dance or watch from one of the tables.
If you are thinking about choosing this venue than I can honestly say go for it and you will not regret it! Thank you so much to The Compasses team for our dream day!
A finally special mention for the food! How could I forget! The food was incredible and we had so much excellent feedback from our guests which is all you can hope for really. Just perfect.
